Methyltestosterone is aromatized by the body and is highly estrogenic due to its conversion to 17-alpha methylestradiol, a synthetic estrogen with high biological activity. 17-alpha methylation actually reduces the rate of aromatization, although the potent nature of 17-methylestradiol more than makes up for this.
